As we all know, we didn't have school either Monday or Tuesday. This is due to Carnaval. What is carnaval? Carnaval is the tradition period of fun, feasting, and partying. Throughout carnaval there are fancy-dress parties, parades and fireworks display. In Punta del Este, Uruguay, this wasn’t quite the case. Punta is a city towards the coast of Uruguay, near Argentina that is a common spot for tourists, specially adolescents during January and February. In Carnaval, because of the long weekend this causes the city to be packed, but only 1 party took place. The party was a fiasco. It was besides a swamp, with a bad sound system, and pizzas that were said to be rotten. So that is that. A restaurant, during Monday night, dressed up as different characters, that had nothing to do with Carnaval, so they just use it as an excuse to dress up once a year. To conclude, Carnaval in Punta del Este, isn’t much big of a deal.
